峦岩 又名棋盘山，位于玉环城关沙岙与犁头咀之间，山上有古刹知空寺，始建于明代，悬崖结屋，对石为屏，清幽静谧。寺内常年香火缭绕，香客云集。峦岩山自然景观相当丰富，其自然风光之美，形象岩石之多，神话传说之奇，在清代雍正光绪年间修纂的《浙江通志》和《玉环志》中均有记载，胜迹20多处，古时盛名遐迩。
