In 1981, the August 21 rainstorm in western Sichuan basin and July 21rainstorm in southern Shaanxi caused overflow of rivers and down flush of sediments,reulting serious disasters, such as flood, mudflow,landfall,landslide and falling stone at713 sites along Baoji-Chengdu railway line.
１９８１年川西盆地的“８·２１”暴雨和陕南的“７·２１”暴雨，造成宝成铁路沿线江河横溢、泥砂俱下。

| 宝成铁路 沟通中国西北、西南的第一条铁路干线。北起宝鸡，与陇海铁路相连；南至成都，与成渝、成昆铁路相连，中接阳安铁路于阳平关，全长668.2千米。1913年以后， 中国曾就修建同（大同） 成（成都）铁路进行过多次踏勘；1936～1948年，又经过多次勘测比较，曾选定天水至成都方案；但均未动工兴建。1950 ～1953年对天水至略阳和宝鸡至略阳两段又进一步勘测，选定宝鸡至成都的方案 。1952年7月和1954年1月分别自成都、宝鸡两端起对向修建 ，于1956年 7月通车，1958年元旦全线采用蒸汽机车牵引，正式运营。1961年宝鸡至凤州段实现电气化，1975年凤州至成都段实现电气化，至此宝成铁路成为中国第一条电气化铁路。
