国际海事防务展的举办地点是在新加坡的樟宜国际展览中心,这是亚洲及太平洋地区最大的海军装备展览。海事防务展主要展出最新型海军装备,包括世界上最先进的水面战舰、潜艇、无人飞行器、电子战设备以及其他新型技术设备,举办海事技术方面的学术会议,特别是开放参观可供美国航空母舰停泊的樟宜海军基地。
两年一度的亚洲最大海防展吸引来自欧洲、美洲、中东以及亚太地区国家官方代表团的踊跃参加。其中,军售大国俄罗斯已经连续五次参展。
