The Guanling biota is characterized by the occurrence of numerous well-preserved Late Triassic(Carnian)marine reptiles and crinoids with ammonoids,bivalves,conodonts,brachiopods,elasmobranch ichthyoliths and a few fossil fishes and plants.

始海百合纲(Eocrinoidea)是棘皮动物门海蕾亚门中最为原始的一纲，始现于早寒武世，灭绝于志留纪，繁盛于寒武纪，至今寒武纪始海百合纲化石至少有21属。
