用滚针作滚动体的滚动轴承（见图）。滚动体长度与直径之比大于 2.5的圆柱称为滚针。滚针轴承主要用于径向尺寸受限制而载荷又很大的地方，如汽车的连杆轴承、 活塞销轴承、 万向联轴节铰链轴承和变速器轴承等。但这类轴承摩擦力矩较大，不能承受轴向载荷。图为滚针轴承的主要结构型式。
