The paper analyzes the causes for marine fisheries overfishing in our country and puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions in the aspects such as strengthening fisheries resources survey, perfection of direct management ways, development of mariculture and ocean-going fisheries and strengthening of propaganda and education, and severe law enforcement system.

The property right of marine fish and it’s allowable catch is not well-defined, so ill-regulated marine fisheries are bound to be subject to overfishing which includes economic overfishing and biologic overfishing.
