   北美洲环太平洋海岸山脉的一部分。位于美国西部。南接内华达山脉,北与加拿大海岸山脉相连,从美国加利福尼亚州向北经俄勒冈州和华盛顿州延伸到加拿大,长1127千米。海拔1800~2500米,北西北-南东南走向。山体自南向北逐渐增高。形成于中生代内华达造山运动,大部分由喷出岩组成。北段地势最高,主要由古生代花岗岩和较老的变质岩构成,表现为一切割的高地或高原,顶部有花岗岩蚀余山;中段和南段均覆盖第三纪熔岩,尤以南段广泛而深厚。山脉第四纪时有大量火山喷发,形成许多火山堆,以南段最密集,多为死火山。部分还在活动中,如圣海伦斯火山。海拔多在3000米以上,雷尼尔山海拔4392米,为山脉最高峰。山区富森林、水力、旅游资源,建有多处公园。
