瘫痪的一种临床类型。表现为两下肢运动功能丧失，常伴有下半身的感觉消失和大小便失禁或潴留。随病变部位不同，瘫痪的部位和表现亦不同。颈髓横贯损伤导致高位截瘫，而下胸及腰髓损伤引起低位截瘫。脊柱压缩骨折、脊髓损伤、横断性脊髓炎、脊髓肿瘤、椎骨结核和脊髓空洞症等，为造成截瘫的常见原因。对截瘫患者应采取综合性康复措施。
