后海湾（深圳湾）位于香港新界西北部和广东省深圳市的西部，元朗平原以西、蛇口以东。过去由于有著来自珠江及深圳河的淡水与南中国海的海水交汇，很适合红树林生长，所以当地的渔产和蚝产都十分丰盛。随着香港农业式微，元朗一带荒废的鱼塘和水稻田都回复湿地的原貌，成为了雀鸟的天堂。
