The ornamentation of exine may be divided into 3 types:dispinulate-reticulate,dispinulate-foveolate,dispinulate-rugulate or nearly smooth.

The study shows that the pollen morphology,size and ornamentation of exine are different in flue-cured tobacco,sun-cured tobacco and wild tobacco.
