| 道路照明 road lighting 在道路上设置照明器以便夜间照亮道路。有利于提高道路通行能力和保证交通安全。 道路照明最初是靠点燃木材。1667年冬，巴黎街道上出现了油灯。1806年美国巴尔的摩城的街道上有了汽灯。1842年，巴黎街道上用电弧灯照明。1878年，英国首先使用碳丝白炽灯。1932年，荷兰街道上出现低压钠灯。1935年高压汞灯问世。1965年高压钠灯始用于道路照明。中国于1865年在上海南京路开始采用煤气灯，1882 年在外滩安装了电弧灯，1890年始用白炽灯。后道路照明较多采用高压钠灯，因其发光效率高。此外还用白炽灯、高压汞灯、低压钠灯、荧光灯等。 道路照明只需使路面有一定亮度，增大物体与路面的亮度差，使驾驶员能轮廓辨认人或物即可。道路照明的质量一般可用路面亮度、均匀度、眩光、诱导性4 个指标衡量。亮度是道路表面单位面积上反射出的光量，以尼特为单位。均匀度是路面上亮度分布的均匀程度，如分布不均匀，则障碍难以被发现，驾驶员的视觉舒适感差。眩光是强光直射驾驶员眼睛使其产生视觉障碍而看不清物体的现象。诱导性是用照明告知驾驶员有关前方道路线形、起伏、交叉、车流分合的有关信息。 道路照明用的照明器的布置可采用在道路两侧对称布置、交错布置，一侧布置，路中央悬挂布置等形式，视道路宽度选用。通常是超过20米宽的道路和迎宾道路采用两侧对称布置，15～20米宽的道路可考虑两侧交错布置，较窄的道路可用一侧布置。 |
