This article tries to design the orientation for degree courses of medical postgraduates in four aspects as training objectives, the needs of development of both the society and the individual, comprehensive quality and consciousness of creativity.

In view of the major problems that exist in the process of developing postgraduates ability to do scientific research, a discussion is made of the strategies in terms of degree course teaching, academic practice and exchange, dissertation writing, advisor tutorial, and teaching and research administration.
