During the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China,the choice of the translation changed with the historical situation affecting the translation activities varying a lot,and some kinds of academic cultures were popular with people,what s more,the education reformation made by the Qing Government offered a direct chance for the translation of the western psychology.

高觉敷主编。高等学校心理学、教育学、哲学和社会学等专业用教材。人民教育出版社1989年出版。本书系1982年出版的《西方近代心理学史》的续编。高觉敷主编本书，李伯黍、刘恩久和孙名之为副主编，马文驹为主编助理。参加编写工作的有9所高等学校和研究机构的人员。西方的心理学研究在近数十年间进展较大，出现了不少新成果、新理论和新的发展动向。考虑到西方心理学依旧是学说分歧、学派林立的现状，故本书仍以学派为主干，从行为主义的困境及其对意识的妥协说起，然后分述认知心理学、J.皮亚杰的发生认识论、H.P.H.瓦隆的唯物主义心理学、K.勒温的团体动力学、新精神分析的自我心理学和社会文化学派、人本主义心理学。不归属于学派的生理心理学和J.P.吉尔福德的智力因素理论两章，则以问题为中心加以论述。对那些还在讨论中的新题材，暂未收入。全书试图以辩证唯物主义和历史唯物主义观点对西方心理学的理论和成果进行述评，有助于读者汲取其精华，舍弃其糟粕。
