形态特征:五加科粱王茶属常绿灌木或小乔木，高可达6米。叶薄革质，二型，单叶和掌状复叶可同生一株上，单叶长椭圆形或长椭圆状披针形，具稀疏尖锐锯齿;部分叶片3深裂，偶为掌状复叶。7-8月开花，伞形花序直径约2.5厘米，集生成长达18厘米的顶生圆锥花丛;花白色或淡黄色;花瓣5，三角状卵形，长1.5毫米。果实扁圆形，径5-6毫米，黑色。
生境分布:生于海拔600-2000米的山坡、沟岸等处。分布于我国西南等南区及陕西、湖北等省。
用途:树皮、枝、叶均可提取芳香油;全株药用，有清热解毒、止痛的功效。
