印度的全国性电视台。1965年正式播出。台址设在新德里。原为全印广播电台的一部分，1976年成为独立机构，隶属政府新闻广播部。1959年 9月联合国教科文组织为调查发展中国家电视教育的作用，曾在新德里进行电视教育实验广播，后扩大面向全国观众。1983年10月开始使用"印度卫星1B"播出电视节目。1987年，每天用印地语和英语播出 5.5小时。
