【黄金储备】国际储备的一种。根据国际货币基金组织对国际储备的计算方法，一国的国际储备包括:(l)黄金储备，即由会员国货币当局持有的储备黄金;(2)外汇储备，即由会员国货币当局所能控制的国外可兑换货币存款和其他短期金融资产;(3)会员国在国际货币基金组织的储备头寸;(4)基金组织分配给会员国而又未动用的特别提款权。 黄金作为一个“价值实体”和财富的象征，代表着国家的经济实力，从而成为国际储备的重要组成部分。黄金储备当前极少用来直接充当国际清算手段，即使是用来清偿国际债务或弥补国际收支逆差，通常的作法也是将黄金当作商品，换取外汇后再作支付。黄金非货币化使得黄金储备的绝对值和相对值都已大幅下降。
