靴 亦作“鞾”，一种高至踝骨以上的长筒鞋，来自西域。《中华古今注》：“靴者，盖古西胡也，昔赵武灵王常服之。其制：短靿、黄皮。”这种靴子的实物，曾有残件出土，上面布满圆铜泡钉，与文献可相印证。《说文》：“鞮，革履也，胡人履连胫谓之络鞮。”络鞮就是后代的所谓靴。可见，靴是从外族传入中原的。以后靴在我国甚流行。《晋书·刘兆传》：“尝有人着靴骑驴，至兆门外。”《南史·萧琛传》：“(琛)乃着虎皮靴，策桃枝杖，直造俭(王俭)座。”
