分子式C8H12N2O3,分子量184.19。又称佛罗那。白色结晶粉末。无臭微苦。熔点189~191℃。在空气中稳定。微溶于水,溶于热水和乙醇,易溶于碱性溶液。用作镇静和催眠药物,适用于治疗神经过度兴奋引起的失眠症,能引起安稳的睡眠。但不宜长期服用,因其会引起全身无力、呕吐、头痛等副作用。可由二乙基丙二酸酯与尿素在乙醇钠存在下经缩合反应制得。
