性质:由多粘杆菌发酵液提得的抗生素。是由A、B、C、D、E…等多种同属物所组成的碱性多肽混合物。其中以多粘菌素B的毒性最小。其硫酸盐是白色或乳白色粉末。易溶于水,微溶于乙醇,不溶于丙酮和乙醚。对革兰阴性细菌有抑制作用。主治由绿脓杆菌、大肠杆菌、痢疾杆菌、肺炎杆菌等所引起的败血症。过量时对肾脏有毒性。
