| 沥青 asphalt 由不同分子量的碳氢化合物及其非金属（氧、硫、氮等）衍生物组成的混合物。种类很多，常见的有天然沥青（土沥青）、石油沥青和煤焦油沥青（柏油），以石油沥青的产量最大。石油沥青为黑色固体、半固体或高粘度液体的重质石油产品。主要为多环、稠环、杂环烃类及其衍生物的混合物。来源于原油蒸馏、溶剂脱沥青、氧化和调合等加工过程。石油沥青具有粘弹性，即在高温或长时间重载下呈粘性流体，而在低温或短时间负载下具有弹性。此外，还具有良好的粘结性、防水防腐性和电绝缘性。广泛用于筑路、房屋建筑、水利工程、管道防腐、电器元件和电缆绝缘等。主要质量指标有：针入度，反映沥青稠度（软硬程度）；软化点，反映沥青的热塑性；伸长度，反映沥青的粘结性、抗张性和胶体均匀性，也称延度。
