This research has assessed the scientific inquiry abilities of 178 students from grade three in junior high schools using pencil-and-paper test,worksheet and spot observation in order to study the fairness of different assessment methods for different groups of students.

This research assesses scientific inquiry abilities of 178 students from grade three in junior high schools by using spot observation and worksheet in order to study the alternation of worksheet with spot observation,namely worksheet s validity for the assessment of scientific inquiry abilities.
