性质：表面活性剂的一类。在水中能生成憎水性的阳离子。例如季铵离子RR'R''R'''N+。绝大多数是含氮有机化合物，少数是含磷或含硫有机化合物。主要是季铵化合物。例如十六烷基三甲基季铵溴化物和十八烷基二甲基苄基季铵氯化物。由于价格较高，一般不用作润湿剂、乳化剂或洗涤剂。具有强杀菌力，广泛用作杀菌剂和消毒剂。具有强吸附力，能在表而生成亲油性薄膜产生阳电性，可用作纺织品的柔软剂和静电防止剂等。不可与阴离子型表面活性一同使用，因在水溶液中将生成沉淀失支效力，但可与非离子型表面活性剂一同使用。
