地位报酬(status reward)对一个人在组织中个人价值的报酬，如组织授予的职称、资格、荣誉、嘉奖令等。它是通过肯定和承认人在组织中应有的地位来满足人的心理要求，从而起到对人的激励作用。地位报酬只是在组织中公开认可一个人的应有地位，故一般最容易滥用。一旦轻易获得，人人有份，就会失去它所特有的激励作用。因此，地位报酬只有在少数有突出贡献的人才能获得时，它的激励程度才会提高。如果有人无功受禄，还会产生种种消极影响。 (孙俊山撰张觉审)
