| 吸积 accretion 物质（气体、尘埃）在天体的引力作用下落向中心天体的现象。如果被吸积的物质相对于中心天体没有足够的角动量，物质将沿径向流向中心天体，形成球对称吸积。但是，一般来说，被吸积物质具有较大的角动量，它们不会沿径向直接落到中心天体上，而是围绕中心天体旋转，形成一个作较差旋转的盘状物，称为吸积盘。盘的内边缘处的物质沿着螺旋轨道落向中心天体。吸积过程中要释放大量能量。这一过程常伴有抛射现象，如喷流。致密天体有着很强的引力场，吸积非常重要。致密天体的吸积是最有效的释放能量的方式，其效率甚至比核反应还高。吸积理论在天体物理中有着广泛的应用。X射线密近双星、激变变星、活动星系核的许多观测现象都需要用吸积盘模型来解释。 |
