【植物形态】
垂果南芥 二年生草本，高50～100厘米。茎直立，被毛，上部分枝。叶互生，长椭圆形、倒卵形或披针形；先端尖，基部耳状，稍抱茎，边缘有细锯齿，无柄.总状花序顶生；萼片4，有星状毛；花瓣4，十字形，较小，白色。长角果扁平，下垂，长3～10厘米。种子多数，边缘有狭翅。 生于山坡、山沟、草地、林缘、灌木丛、河岸及路旁的杂草地。分布西北、华北、东北等地。

秋季采收，晒干酒炒。

辛，平。
【功用主治】
清热，解毒，消肿。治疮痈肿毒。
【选方】
①治痈肿：垂果南芥适量，煎汤熏洗。 ②治阴道炎，阴道滴虫：垂果南芥一钱。荆芥一钱，蔓荆子二钱，益母草三钱，玉竹三钱，一支蒿二钱，共研细末，每日一次，每次一钱五分，煎汤服。
