      没有设置专门灭弧装置的开关电器。在分闸位置时有明显可见的断口,以便检修人员能清晰判断隔离开关处于分闸位置,达到安全操作和安全检修的目的。隔离开关主要用于设备或线路的检修和分段进行电气隔离;在断口两端接近等电位的条件下倒换母线,改变接线方式;分、合一定长度母线或电缆、绝缘套管和断路器的并联(均压)电容器中通过的小电容电流;分、合电压互感器的额定工作电流(电磁式为励磁电流,电容式为电容电流)。
  
  隔离开关分为户内用和户外用两类。户内隔离开关(图1)一般用在 35千伏以下电压的配电装置中,这种隔离开关的典型结构为三相装在同一个底架上,闸刀的运动方向为垂直回转运动。图示为分闸状态;合闸后,闸刀处于水平位置。户外隔离开关一般用在35千伏及以上的电压等级。按结构形式有单柱式、双柱式和三柱式;按运动方式可分为瓷柱转动、瓷柱摆动和瓷柱移动;按闸刀的合闸方式又可分为闸刀垂直运动和闸刀水平运动两种。图2为一种双柱、瓷柱转动和闸刀水平转动的户外隔离开关。主闸刀固定在绝缘瓷柱顶部活动出线座上,在分合闸过程中,主闸刀传动轴通过连杆机构带动两侧的绝缘瓷柱回转,使闸刀在水平面上转动。图中闸刀位于合闸位置。每极底座上各装有一把接地刀,作为检修时接地用。图中接地刀处于分闸位置。接地刀和主闸刀之间相互机械联锁,使主闸刀未分闸时,接地刀不能合闸;接地刀未分开时,主闸刀不能合闸。500千伏超高压变电所常采用单柱式。冰冻地区用的户外隔离开关常装有破冰机构,以防止触头部分被冰冻时拒动作。
