余段位于修水县西南边陲，界于土龙山脉与东阳山脉之间，与湖南平江毗邻，面积37.2平方公里，耕地面积3070亩，山地5.3万亩，6个行政村，958户，4456人，是全县最小的乡。在大革命时期，这个小乡有175名烈士为革命英勇献身。今天，余段乡人民正踏着先烈们的足迹，励精图治，向小康迈进。
