This paper expounds the necessity of establishing the art & design college/department reference room in common university from three angles of the professional requirement,teaching characteristics and book management,and advances the concrete measures for constructing the professional reference room and the service qualities that the data management specialist should possess.

Based on introducing the significance of humanistic environment construction, this paper probes into the construction of humanistic environment of the reference room in university from the aspects of humanization and individualization.
