房中术语。出《玉房秘诀》。即古人 从男性外生殖器的解剖部位和生理功能角度,提出男子须遵循的性事养生之道。此即所谓“ 五常之道”,以为男性生殖器具有仁、义、礼、智、信等五常。它深藏于男体隐蔽之处,能 进行有节度的交合,并可兴至而泄精,此乃“仁”的表现;阴茎中有孔道,此乃“义”的反 映;茎端有龟头的分节,此乃“礼”的表现;性兴奋时则勃起,无性欲时则软缩,此乃“信 ”之所致;性交时能高能低,左右迎随,此乃“智”的表现。所以讲究长寿之人,多遵循这 五 常而有所节制,即能做到性交虽可泄精,但却经常保持精血的充盛;虽有性欲,但却宜有所 禁抑,做到泄精与禁欲适当而为,长如此为之,则可延年增寿。《玉房秘诀》:“何谓五常 ?素女曰:玉茎实有五常之道,深居隐处,执节自守,内怀至德,施行无已,夫玉茎意欲施 与者,仁也;中有空者,义也;端有节者,礼也;意欲即起,不欲即止者,信也;临事低仰 者,智也。是故真人因五常而节之,仁虽欲施予,精苦不固;义守其空者,明当禁使,无得 多实,即禁之道矣,又当施予,故礼为之节矣;执诚持之,信既著矣。即当知交接之道,故 能从五常,身乃寿也。”此虽由于当时封建思想和条件的限制,用五常来概括显得有些不伦 不类,但在旧礼教的桎梏下,能对一直视为亵物和禁区的性器官的解剖和功能做如此深入的 观察 和类比,实难能可贵。这是性解剖学中最早描述性器官的特殊部位、大体结构和有关性生 理功能的古代文献。
