| 赫兹（1857～1894） Hertz，Heinrich Rudolf 德国物理学家，经典电动力学的奠基人之一。1857年2月22日生于汉堡，1894年1月1日卒于波恩。1880～1882年作为H.亥姆霍兹的助手从事科学研究工作。1885年任科劳尔施物理研究所的物理学教授。1889年继R.克劳修斯任波恩大学物理学教授。1887年赫兹用自己设计的振荡器第一次通过实验证实了电磁波的存在，证明了J.C.麦克斯韦的理论的正确性，后又研究电磁波的各种性质（反射、衍射、折射、形成驻波等），证实了电磁波在空气中的传播速度等于光速，确立了电磁波和光波基本特性的等同性。1886～1887年观察并描述了外光电效应，研究了共振回路理论、紫外光对放电的影响、阴极射线的性质等。赫兹曾多次获得意、法、奥、德等国科学院和学术团体的奖章和奖金，并被选为柏林科学院、剑桥哲学学会等7个主要学术组织的通讯会员。为纪念他，人们以赫兹作为振荡频率的单位。 |
