性质：指活性炭纤维的球形块状物。吸附能力高，吸脱附速度快，处理性和形状保持性优良，流体通过的阻力极低。制法是将软化点约230℃的精制沥青熔纺后在300℃空气中不熔化，切成长度约0.6mm后用粉碎机碎成粉状，在水悬浮液中用平均粒长为8μm、软化点为94℃的沥青黏合剂，制成平均粒径约3.1mm的球状碳纤维，用33%水蒸气在900℃活化，制得比表面积为1500m2/g的产品。用途与普通沥青系活性炭纤维相仿。
