Based on the literatures review,a relation model between success factors and success criteria about IS/IT projects is built,and then the data on IS/IT projects in China are collected and analyzed,and finally the performance of the Chinese IS/IT projects is evaluated.

Based on literature review on project critical success factors, this paper proposes a critical success factor model appropriate to IS/IT projects, which consists of three dimensions: factors related to stakeholders, factors related to project life cycle, factors related to supporting factors.

Based on the literature review, the theoretical model of critical success factors in IS/IT projects is established, and by analyzing the data from questionnaires through factor analysis, 14 critical success factors in Chinese IS/IT projects are summarized, the original theoretical model amended and some significant conclusions made.
