利用蒸汽、压缩空气或压力水清除锅炉受热面上积灰和结渣的装置。在锅炉中，燃料燃烧后产生的部分灰渣会粘附在锅炉受热面上，影响传热效果，因而须经常进行清灰。最为常见的清灰方法是用吹灰器除灰，此外还有钢珠除灰、振动除灰和声波除灰等。用吹灰器定期吹灰可改善传热效果，节约燃料1～2％，并可预防大量结渣和堵灰，提高锅炉可用率。采用蒸汽或压缩空气作为吹灰介质的常用吹灰器主要有 4种。①长伸缩式吹灰器(见图)：用于吹扫过热器和再热器(也有用于省煤器的)管束中的积灰。吹灰时吹灰管子和喷头一面旋转,一面伸入烟道。喷头用拉瓦尔喷管式,蒸汽或空气的喷射速度超过声速，有效吹灰半径约1.5～2米。②短伸缩式吹灰器：用于吹扫炉膛水冷壁管子表面的结渣和积灰。以上两种吹灰器多数用于高于 700℃的烟温范围，吹灰结束后吹灰管退出炉外，以免被高温烟气烧坏。③固定旋转式吹灰器:用于吹扫烟温低于700℃的烟道中管束的积灰，吹灰管上装有许多喷嘴，吹灰时吹灰管只作转动，吹灰结束后吹灰管不退出炉外。由于这种吹灰管长期置于烟道内,为保证吹灰管不被烧坏,应根据装设点的烟温选用耐热钢材。④摆动式吹灰器：用于回转式空气预热器。用蒸汽吹灰时，为获得较好的吹灰效果，应保持蒸汽压力为0.8～2兆帕。
