The current resource of the West medium cannot match the vast geographical space and the abundant cultural resources of the West.

According to risk reports of contemporary Chinese media,this paper holds that: they are in reflection on social risks,but hindered by certain traditional opinion on relevant reports;they are in power game,but counteracted by certain instrumentalized mentality;they are in an active attitude towards the risks,but obstructed by certain fatalism.

In its reforming process, while marked with centralization of authority, Chinese media manifests a dual character of a public institution and a business enterprise, which both helps to normalize its operation and management and mean- while hinders its rapid development to compete with international counterparts on the same stage.
