A new type of hybrid sensing membrane immobilizing plant esterase-chromogenic agent with porosity and tunable hydrophilicity or acetonephilicity was prepared by in-situ sol-gel of poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) and(tetraethyl) orthosilicate(TEOS),and characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM) and attenuated total refraction(infrared) spectroscopy(ATR).
