| 新马尔萨斯主义 neo-Malthusianism 近代西方流行的一种主张用避孕方法来限制人口增长的马尔萨斯主义者的人口理论。基本观点与马尔萨斯相同，认为人口增长有比生活资料增长得更快的趋势，是永恒的规律。工人的失业和贫困是人口增长不可避免的结果。19世纪上半期，马尔萨斯人口论的拥护者 F.普莱斯 、R.卡莱尔 、G.德莱斯代尔在信奉马尔萨斯人口论基本观点的同时，不赞成马尔萨斯的禁欲主义的道德抑制，提倡用避孕方法来节育。这种理论后来被叫做新马尔萨斯主义，也称为普莱斯主义、卡莱尔主义、德莱斯代尔主义。新马尔萨斯主义的缺陷不在于主张节制生育，而在于忽视社会生产方式对人口发展过程的决定性影响，掩盖了西方社会人口问题的实质。 |
