| 脉翅目 Neuroptera 昆虫纲的一目。通称蛉，包括草蛉、褐蛉、蚁蛉、螳蛉等类昆虫。成虫和幼虫均捕食害虫，是一类重要的益虫。 成虫最小的体长1毫米，翅展3毫米；大的长达 50毫米，翅展120毫米。头下口式，复眼大，少数有3个单眼，触角有各种类型；咀嚼式口器。卵或长或圆，多呈卵形，顶端有精孔器，草蛉等科的卵基部有丝柄；卵单粒散产，或成排成堆集聚。蛹为裸蛹 ，翅芽、足、触角等明显外露 ；上颚发达，羽化前破茧爬出，故称动蛹。 完全变态，1年1至数代，也有2～3年完成1代的；多以老熟幼虫在茧内越冬，成虫越冬的其体色常有变化。幼虫大多陆生，少数 (水蛉科等)幼虫水生或半水生 。成虫有扑光习性，脉翅目多捕食蚜虫、介壳虫、红蜘蛛等重要农林害虫，也捕食蛾蝶幼虫、甲虫幼虫以及虫卵等，甚至有捕食金龟子、蝼蛄等大型害虫的。近年国际上利用草蛉成功地防治棉蛉虫等，而使脉翅目成为生物防治中重要的一员。有些脉翅目幼虫还可以入药。 |
