This paper points out that China modern wash painting has been making mistakes by analyzing the background of modern China wash painting.

Theoretically and historically,the scholar painting includes the wash painting as well as the fine bruch painting,which are the two trunks on the big tree of Chinese painting.

Compared with wash painting,however,it still remains marginalized in China.

Technological painting coexisted with washpainting as a kind of painting form.

From the "bkck" of ink and water painting and "colored characteristic" of aquarelle,ink and water painting series "pen and ink""spend" characteristic respect of modeling,the author compares with thread "with aquarelle simple".

Chinese ink and water painting and western water color are respectively from their own national cultures:each has its own traditional philosophical concept and esthetic sense;each shows its characteristics while both are closely related.
