From July of 2006 to July of 2007,four Great Black-headed Gulls(Larus ichthyaetus)installed with PTTs at Qinghai Lake were tracked accomplishing autumn and spring migration and returning to the breeding site.

| 鸥 Larus；gulls 鸟纲鸥形目鸥科鸥属鸟类的通称。上嘴长于下嘴，尖端下曲成钩状；体长约380～620毫米 ；尾呈方形；后趾发达 。世界广布，共有44种，中国有12种。飞翔力很强，常集群盘旋于水域上空觅食。繁殖期集成大群营巢，每窝产卵2～3枚。卵圆形，有浅褐、淡灰、浅绿等色，杂以暗褐、紫褐或棕褐色斑点。主要食鱼、虾及其他水生动物，亦捕食昆虫和啮齿类，掠食其他鸟类的卵和幼雏。该属在中国大部分地区为冬候鸟或旅鸟。银鸥在俄罗斯北部为常见种类，中国新疆也有繁殖。棕头鸥繁殖于高原内陆湖泊，繁殖分布区从蒙古南部到中国新疆、青海及西藏的湖泊；在缅甸、印度直到非洲的广大地区越冬。红嘴鸥分布范围很广，在从欧洲直至中国新疆的广大地区繁殖，冬季南迁，遍布中国各地。
