【来源】
为白花菜科植物白花菜的种子。植物形态详"白花菜"条。
【采集】
秋季果实成熟时，割取全草，晒干后打下种子，除净杂质。
【药材】
干燥种子，呈扁圆形，极细小，直径O.5～1毫米，厚0.5毫米。外皮黑褐色或黑色，粗糙不平，有细密的蜂窝状麻纹，规则地排列成同心环状，边缘有一小缺口，种仁黄色，稍有油性。气微，味苦。以干燥、颗粒饱满、色黑、无杂质者为佳。 主产河北。
【化学成分】
种子含挥发油，与芥子挥发油相似；并含有醉蝶花素。 另含脂肪油17.6～25%，其脂肪酸主要是亚麻酸(53.82%)、棕榈酸(18.41%)、油酸(15.89%)，硬脂酸(8.07%)等。
【性味】
《纲目》："苦辛，微毒。"
【功用主治】
①《纲目》："煎水，洗痔；捣烂，敷风湿痹痛；擂酒饮，止疟。" ②《安徽药材》："散风去湿，活血止痛。"
【用法与用量】
外用：煎水洗或捣敷。
