      BF3 硼的氟化物,无色、具刺激性臭的窒息性气体。熔点-128.37℃,沸点-99.9℃。可溶于水,在热水中水解,呈酸性,对玻璃有腐蚀作用。可与金属钠、钾、钙、铝、钛、锆及其氧化物起剧烈反应,易与乙醚形成稳定的络合物。
  
  传统的生产方法是以硼砂、萤石在硫酸存在下反应制得。此法收率低,且有四氟化硅杂质。20世纪80年代工业上多用氟硼酸盐与硼酐和硫酸一起加热,生成的气体经净化后进入收集器,深冷后再分馏即得产品。
  
  在有机化工中,三氟化硼主要用作酯化、烷基化、聚合、异构化、磺化、硝化反应的酸性催化剂,也用于制备卤化硼、元素硼、硼烷与硼氢化钠等硼化物。
