一类含氧酸，分子中含有过氧基(-O-O-),是过氧化氢与酸酐（见酐）结合的产物,例如过二硫酸H2S2O8（结构式如上左）。重要的过酸还有过甲酸、过乙酸、过苯甲酸。过酸通常由含氧酸与过氧化氢反应制备，过二硫酸也可由硫酸氢盐溶液电解氧化而得。过酸可用作氧化剂、杀菌剂、消毒剂或用于合成环氧化物和羟基化物等。
