道生(?~434) 中国东晋僧人。亦名竺道生,俗姓魏。巨鹿(今河北平乡)人,居彭城(今江苏徐州)。自幼从竺法汰受业,20岁受具足戒,后入庐山幽栖7年。元兴三年(404)与慧睿、慧严等同往长安从鸠摩罗什受学,辅佐鸠摩罗什译《大品般若经》、《小品般若经》。义熙五年(409)南返;十四年佛陀跋陀罗译《大般涅槃经》初分,中说“一阐提人无佛性”,道生剖析经理,说“一阐提人皆得成佛”,此说引起群情大哗,后于昙无谶译大本《涅槃经》 中证实。立有 “ 善不受报”、“顿悟成佛”义。所著《二谛论》等均不传,今存有《法华疏》二卷、《维摩经注》、《涅槃经注》。 |
