National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotation的简称，是美国证券协会(National Association of Securities Dealers)为有效率且迅速地提供店头市场最佳行情，以促进买卖交易，于1971年2月开始导入地现代电脑连线信息系统。
解释：
该系统地终端机有供一般投资人使用的各证券代表性报价表，有供证券公司使用的市场交易商间报价询问应答装置，亦有市场交易商所用行情输入与信息处理设备，故经纪商对于当时市场交易商的行情申报可以瞬间明了，因此提出最佳行情申报的市场交易商无论何时都有可能完成交易。原先该系统本身并不提供证券交易的直接报价作业，买卖双方必须自行由系统中的咨询资料里寻找对手或是通过经纪商来进行交易。美国证券业协会于1981年2月开始实施具备自动执行机能的“自动执行委托制度”。亦该制度，NASDAQ将取得的市场交易商所提出之最佳行情委托送回，并自动执行买卖机能。亦即若依顾客定单，该系统也可以进行同业间的中介工作。NASDAQ与纽约股票交易所(NYSE)代表两个彼此对立的制度。后者是以集中交易和定单为优先，以专家的中介人为居间的上市股竞卖市场；而后者则为店头股同业市场的信息制度监视，其最大的特色即在他和欧州债券市场(Eurobond market)同样，并不具有交易厅，只通过业者间的办公室做交易。目前该两种机构也在积极地展开选择交易市场地竞争。
