性质:对生物有作用酌物质(如药物、生物制品等)或物理因素(如射线)足够引起生物死亡的剂量。可用以表示药物对生物的损害强度。最常用的为半数致死量(LD50),即在试验生物的群体中能引起半数生物死亡的剂量。LD50的测定比较简便,重复性及稳定性较好,现已成为标志动物毒性强度的重要常数。在群体中仅仅足够引起个别生物死亡的剂量称为最小致死量简称MID。与LD50意义相近的还有半数效量(ED50),即半数动物产生阻性反应的剂量。LD50(或LD5)与ED50(或ED95)的比值是标志药物安全范围的指标,为临床药理试验或临床药物评价提供依据。
