Through using three statistical indexes,including the funds of applied and developmental research (ADR&D),scientists and engineers engaged in Research and Development(R&D),and GDP,all those time series from 1978 to 2002,this paper,by taking USA and Mainland China as examples,constructs correlation and regression models,analyses the correlations between the two inputs respectively and GDP.
