| 超星系团 supercluster 由若干个星系团聚在一起形成的更高一级的天体系统。又称二级星系团。通常，一个超星系团只包含几个星系团。超星系团大多具有扁长形，其长径约60～100百万秒差距，质量1015～1017太阳质量。超星系团的存在说明宇宙空间的物质分布至少在100百万秒差距的尺度上是不均匀的 。20世纪80年代后，天文学家发现宇宙空间中有直径达100百万秒差距的星系很少的区域，称为巨洞。超星系团同巨洞交织在一起，构成了宇宙大尺度结构的基本图像。本星系群所在的超星系团称为本超星系团。较近的超星系团有武仙超星系团、北冕超星系团、巨蛇-宝女超星系团等。 |
