| 电光晶体 electrooptical crystal 具有电光效应的晶体材料。在外电场作用下，晶体的折射率发生变化的现象称为电光效应。外电场作用于晶体材料所产生的电光效应分为两种，一种是泡克耳斯效应，产生这种效应的晶体通常是不具有对称中心的各向异性晶体；另一种是克尔效应，产生这种效应的晶体通常是具有任意对称性质的晶体或各向同性介质。已实用的电光晶体主要是一些高电光品质因子的晶体和晶体薄膜。在可见波段，常用电光晶体有磷酸二氢钾、磷酸二氢铵、铌酸锂、钽酸锂等晶体。前两种晶体有高的光学质量和光损伤阈值，但其半波电压较高，而且要采用防潮解措施。后两种晶体有低的半波电压，物理化学性能稳定，但其光损伤阈值较低。在红外波段，实用的电光晶体主要是砷化镓和碲化镉等半导体晶体。电光晶体主要用于制作光调制器、扫描器、光开关等器件。在大屏幕激光显示汉字信息处理以及光通信方面也有应用前景。 |
