| 边缘盆地 marginal basin 岛弧陆侧的深海盆地。又称弧后盆地。水深约2000～5000余米，为沟-弧-盆系组成部分。边缘盆地位于岛弧与大陆之间（如日本海），或岛弧与岛弧之间（ 如菲律宾海 ），可以单个出现，也可以被海底岭脊分隔成若干次级海盆。外形包括线状至等轴状 ，十分多样 。主要展布在太平洋西部，少数见于大西洋和印度洋。 大多数边缘盆地具大洋型地壳，如南海海盆地壳厚仅5～8千米左右。有的盆地地壳稍厚 ，属过渡型地壳或变薄陆壳，如东海冲绳海槽。边缘盆地上覆陆源、火山碎屑或远海沉积物，厚度不一，在百米至数千米之间。基底熔岩多类似于大洋盆地的拉斑玄武岩，或略带有岛弧熔岩的特点。盆地内多见正断层、地堑等引张构造，盆缘常有陡崖。多数边缘盆地热流值较高，可达2微卡／（ 厘米2·秒）以上。一些边缘盆地已鉴别出条带状磁异常，但与大洋盆地的相比，异常强度一般较弱，线性布局不很清晰。深海钻探、拖网采岩样等资料表明，边缘盆地相当年轻，大多形成于新生代。 |
