The secant method is used to calculate the parameters of shaved traces in the profile of gear shaved by different sections perpendicular to the axis of the cutter.
采用弦截法计算出刀具各端截面所对应的被剃齿轮齿面上的剃削痕迹的参数值，根据各参数的物理意义及其取值范围可反推出径向剃齿刀轴截面的极限位置，两个极限位置坐标之差即为径向剃齿刀最小理论宽度。
